The Technical Theater Major is a professional training program that will prepare students to enter the theatrical industry in a variety of diverse concentrations. Students will assume the roles of theatrical electricians, carpenters, props managers, stage managers, and costume drapers. Upperclassmen will gain the additional experience of design work for the school’s productions
Students will engage in some of the following:
- Technical Drawing skills including hand drawn and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)
- Learning to program multiple lighting consoles and intelligent fixtures
- Building soundscapes
- Creating professional stage management prompt books
- Theatrical electrician skills
- Theatrical Carpentry Skills
- Costume draping and sewing skills
